F is for FREEDOM WRITERS
Freedom Writers is a story about how one overly ambitious teacher gets put into a high school with a group of at-risk teens. We all know the story she challenges them to do different, pushes the boundaries and they all succeed. blah blah blah. I don't know what it was about this one but it was different. She had them write their own stories as to what was going on in their lives and how they were feeling about it. She incorporated "gang life" to that of how the Jews were brought up in the Holocaust. Discriminated against because they were different. She even took them to the Holocaust museum.
Aside I feel that this was one of the most moving stories of that particular kind of movie. Like I said the over zealous teacher, the "ghetto/ gang life" kids. And their realization and acceptance of one another. Not discriminating against one another regardless of their race and who they were.
